Admissions - Application Process


FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO BECOME A STUDENT AT INTERAMERICAN COLLEGE!
  1. Call 619-477-6310 to schedule an appointment with an enrollment advisor to get information regarding
    1. What programs are offered
    2. Admission requirements to the College and/or specific programs
    3. Determine what program best meets your educational goals.

  2. Bring a copy of your unofficial transcripts to your appointment if you have taken courses at other regionally accredited institutions.
    1. The enrollment advisor will conduct an unofficial review to determine which courses may transfer to meet IAC program requirements.
    2. A final transfer equivalency evaluation will be conducted by Academic Records once official transcripts are received from all previously attended institutions.

  3. Complete and submit your application packet.
  4. IMPORTANT: Both your application packet and non-refundable application fee must be submitted in order to process your application. Your enrollment advisor
    1. Can assist with any questions
    2. Will help you determine the first two courses to register in based on your selected program of study.

  5. All new students must take a placement exam. Schedule an appointment to take the placement exam through the Records Clerk in the Registrar's Office. Specific programs may require additional exams. Visit the Academic Programs link to determine what the admission requirements are for the program of study you are interested in.

  6. Apply for financial aid at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. If this is your first time applying, the Financial Aid Department can assist with any questions you may have. For more information on available financial aid, visit IAC's Financial Aid page.

  7. Attend mandatory New Student Orientation. Dates for upcoming orientation sessions can be found under the Student Services link.

  8. Your academic counselor will contact you to draft your annual schedule of classes. All above steps must be completed before your visit with your academic counselor
